Dental Implants In London

We provide dental implants in London for missing teeth. A dental Implant serve as artificial roots for dental devices like crowns, bridges, or dentures, providing a secure and comfortable fit. Whether supporting a single crown or an entire denture, dental implants are essential when one or more teeth are missing, as they not only improve your appearance but also protect the jawbone from injury and deterioration. By reinforcing the jawbone, dental implants maintain a stable and healthy foundation for your mouth.

What Are Dental Implants?

A dental implant is composed of three parts:

  • A titanium implant post that replaces the missing tooth root.
  • A dental crown that replaces the missing tooth itself.
  • An abutment that connects the crown to the implant post.

Dental implants have increased in popularity over the years because of their ability to mimic both the function and appearance of natural teeth by stimulating the jaw bone and encouraging healthy bone growth, something no other dental restoration does. Types Of Dental Implants

Endosteal is the most commonly used and safest type of implant, followed by subperiosteal. Zygomatic implants are the last and most complex type and are rarely used.

Endosteal Implants

Endosteal implants are the most commonly used dental implants. They are suitable for most patients, but a good and healthy jawbone is required for the post to fuse properly. These implants are screw-shaped placeholder posts that are surgically placed into the jawbone, and false teeth are then fitted onto them. After the procedure, it takes some time for the post to heal and fuse together with the jawbone to create a strong foundation. Once the healing process is complete, the false teeth can be attached to the post to blend in with the surrounding teeth. If you’re not comfortable with the idea of having something implanted into your jawbone, there is another type of implant that is also commonly used and might be a better option for you.

Subperiosteal Implants

There are different types of dental implants, one of which is called a Subperiosteal implant. It is an alternative to Endosteal Implants and is used in cases where there is not enough jawbone for an implant to be inserted or when the patient doesn’t want to undergo a complex oral surgery to add bone to the area. Subperiosteal implants are placed on top of the bone under the gum, rather than being fixed into the jawbone. A metal frame is positioned under the gum with a post attached to it. The gum then heals around the frame to hold it in place. The false teeth are attached to the poles that come out of the gum. If you are in the situation described above, it is possible that this type of implant may be a better fit for you.

Zygomatic Implants

Zygomatic implants are an uncommon type of dental implant that is only recommended if you don’t have enough jawbone for an Endosteal implant. This procedure is more complicated as the implant is placed in the patient’s cheekbone instead of the jawbone. Now that you know about the three types of implants, you may be interested in learning about implant techniques.

Mini Dental Implants

These are toothpick-sized implants that are extremely narrow. Their primary use is to stabilize a lower denture.

They are less innovative than the others, but still a perfectly acceptable option for you to look into.
